Analysis of Real World
Context of Business
• The study of looks at the interplay of Business and their Environment
(Economic and Political Outlook).
What does that mean?
Consider this module as an inquiry into the ideas, structures, processes,
and phenomena that help shape and give meaning of Businesses and
their Environment.
AIMS OF THE MODULE
• Critically evaluate the challenges faced by organisations in today’s
perplexing business environment nationally and internationally.
• Critically examine the type, nature and gravity of those challenges and
create an organisation which is flexible and fluid to adopt to those
challenges.
• Enables engagement with core but basic business theory and their

Assessment A1: Essay (LO1, LO2, LO3 and LO4)
• Weightage: 40%
• Assessment Submission Deadline: Week 8
• Assessment Task
• Economic shocks and uncertainties are important factors that can
impact the business environment in realising their objectives and the
level of performance. Given the recent Covid-19 pandemic, you
are required to submit an essay that analyses how Covid-19 has
impacted business performance at national and international levels.
• Your essay should highlight the economic implications of Covid-19
using non-traditional environment factors on the performance of
businesses nationally.
• You should also provide a discussion on the impact of the Covid-19
on business performance at the international level.
Note: the teaching materials will inform on the Asssesment

Assessment A2: Written Report (LO2, LO3 and LO5)
• Weightage: 60%
• Case Study Release: Week 12
• Assessment Submission Deadline: Week 14
Assessment Task
• You will be provided with a case study on the UK Financial times
stock exchange outlook from 1995-2015. You will then need to
provide a report of 1500 words based on three questions deriving
from the case study. The case study will be made available two
weeks before the submission date i.e., in Week 12
• (More details will be communicated as the teaching goes along).
