Your task is to answer a set of research questions using a similar data set as you have been using during tutorials. This data set was obtained from a cross-sectional study on the disorder Hallux Valgus (HV) conducted on adult volunteers recruited from the community and contains a variety of clinical and survey data. Details of the data set and the variables are contained on pages 13-15 (Week 2) of the PUB561 Activity Workbook (Module 1) which is available from the Learning Resources page of Blackboard (Module 1). Additional information about the HV cross-sectional study, including some published results, can be found in Learning Resources. A cleaned version of the dataset (which is unique to you) has been sent by e-mail and you will need to use this version for the Assignment. In your analytical report you are required to answer the following research questions: Answer all of the questions (Q1, 2, 3 & 4): Q1: Is there an association between people having clinical HV and ethnicity? Q2: Are there differences in the foot function scale on the Foot Health Questionnaire between people with clinical HV and without clinical HV? Q3: Is there a difference in the maximum hallux plantarflexion force (Maxflex) score for people in different Manchester Score categories? Q4: Are age, BMI, ankle dorsi flexion and foot pain score (on the Foot Health Status Questionaire) significant predictors of postural sway in the medial/lateral direction when a person is standing with eyes open? Firstly describe the relationships between each of the independent and dependent variables, and then identify which of the variables explain the largest amount of variation in postural sway in the medial/lateral direction. For each research question (Q1 to 4) you are required to fully detail an analytical plan, similar to that used in the PUB561 Activity Workbook, Week 5 (page 6 & 7).
