Note: Group member’s names and BNU IDs must be provided on the cover page. Each member of the group
must submit the same document/file from their personal LSST Connect account. Grade and feedback will
not be allocated for any non-submissions from the group members.

Prepare and deliver a 15-minute presentation and supporting evidence based upon Part 2 of the module.
This should cover the following tasks:
1. What is the role of quantitative research in modern marketing research and data analysis, with
specific emphasis on questionnaire design – with examples of good practice taken from course
work.
2. What is the role of qualitative research in modern marketing research and data analysis, with
specific emphasis on discussion guide design and use – with examples of good practice taken
from course work.
3. Set out what correlation and regression is and how it is used, with examples taken from course
work.
4. Set out what time series is and how it is used, with examples taken from course work.
5. Provide a critique of issues surrounding the analysis techniques in 3 and 4, with specific reference
to Big Data and its use in modern business decision making.
6. From course material and wider authenticated study set out how data could be collected and used
more effectively to make more informed business decisions.
You should submit your slide deck, in a suitable format, supporting documentation and work diary, the
latter should set out which members of the group were responsible for which part of the work

This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your
achievement of the following module learning outcomes:
LO 2: Analyse and present information to support decision making.
LO 2: Apply various analytical tools and techniques to gain insight into a specific research issue.

 

Task requirements
x This is a group presentation.
x Please keep a record of group work meetings, including attendance and work allocation v work done
to the required standard. This should be submitted with the final report and slides. Use Google Docs
to do this.
x Presentations will take place in a pre-arranged timeslot during normal tuition hours for this module.
Failure to attend or failure to be punctual (without good reason) will be treated as a non-submission.
x Presentations will be timed.
x You will receive verbal feedback immediately after your presentation so you may want to have a
penand paper to hand to record some of this feedback.
x You should use this feedback to make alteration to your final submission.
x You will NOT be provided with your grade at this time but via VLE within a three-week period.

How your work will be assessed
Your work will be assessed against the assessment criteria which have been provided at the end of
thisbrief.
These criteria have been designed specifically for this assignment and are intended to measure the extent
to which you have demonstrated your achievement of its associated learning outcomes (see above). They
have been aligned with the institutional grade descriptor appropriate for your level.
The assessment criteria provide a basis for fair and consistent marking and indicate what is expected
ofyou in this assignment. It is strongly recommended that you engage with them while you are
working onthe assignment and use them in combination with any feedback you receive once your
work has been marked to help you plan for future learning and development.
This being a group presentation you will be receiving a mark for the performance of the group (this mostly
relates to the structure and the content of your presentation).

Each member of the group will be questioned on the section of the presentation they have given. Individual
marks will be adjusted based upon whether their individual contribution of the knowledge andunderstanding
of their task and its link to whole project is appropriate for this level of study.

Submission details
This assignment should be submitted electronically.
Please use the relevant Turnitin submission point in the
Upload My Assignment area in your VLE module
shell.
This assignment should be submitted before 14:00 UK time on the set date of submission.
Work that is submitted up to 10 working days beyond the submission date will be accepted as a late
submission. Late submissions will be marked, and the actual mark recorded but will be capped at the
passmark (typically 40%), provided that the work is of a passing standard. Work submitted after this
period will not be marked and will be treated as a non-submission.
x Please ensure that your work has been saved in an appropriate file format. Turnitin will only
acceptthe following file types: Microsoft Word and PDF.
Your file must also contain at least
20 words
of text, consist of fewer than 400 pages and be less than 40MB in size.
x You can submit your work as many times as you like before the submission date. If you do
submityour work more than once, your earlier submission will be replaced by the most recent
version.
x Once you have submitted your work, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission,
whichwill be sent to your forwarded e-mail address (provided you have set this up). Please
keep this receipt for future reference, along with the original electronic copy of your
assignment.
Feedback and marks for this assignment will be available three weeks after submission.
