ETHICS AND LEGALITY IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT
You will consider ethics and legality in project management. Throughout the project life cycle, project managers must be aware of the ethical and legal dimensions of their responsibilities, behaviors, and activities. They must also be able to determine whether ethics or legality is governing in a particular situation. For example, terms of a contract with a customer are governed by contract law, but how a candidate vendor’s questions regarding a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) are answered is an ethical issue governed by the procedures established by the organization issuing the RFP.
After completing this unit, you should be able to:
• Preserve essential project records to adhere to legal and other requirements. • Ensure individual integrity and professionalism by adhering to legal requirements and ethical standards. • Recommend approaches that strive for fair resolution to satisfy competing needs and objectives.
