Megan and Mr. Smith Megan is a typical 16-year-old high school sophomore. She is more focused on fitting in with her peers than she is on her school work. Her history teacher, Mr. Smith, has noticed Megan’s grades slip over the last few months. Today Mr. Smith is handing back an important test students took the week before. Megan failed the test, and as Mr. Smith hands her the test, she takes it and rips it into pieces after the encouragement of a friend. Mr. Smith directs Megan to pick up the papers. Megan refuses, shouts a few expletives at Mr. Smith, and storms out of the classroom.
