This post talks about teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects. In my view, STEM is important because it pervades every aspect of human life. Facilitated by the 4C’s: Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration, teaching STEM subjects or curriculum encourages students to work together to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. As we face the challenges and benefits of both a knowledge-based economy and globalization in the 21st century, technological and scientific innovations have become increasingly important. To thrive in this novel highly technological and information-based society, students need to upscale their capabilities in STEM to heights much beyond what was perceived acceptable in the past.
